How to Check for Irregular Car Tire Wear

Hi I'm Jake from Burt Brother Tire and on behalf of expertvillage.com, we're talking today about how to spot irregular wear and possible balance problems you may be having with your vehicle. Okay, just an inspect, visually inspecting this tire, we can see its outside edge, the shoulder of the tire is what is called in this section here, it's got some very excessive wear which has been worn prematurely from one of two things. Improper inflation and infrequent rotations and also actually I guess I should say three things, a vehicle that will be out of alignment. Most like has a tole adjustment that needs to be made here. They could of got a little more life out of this tire here. But some things to look at would be definitely the different colors of rubber right here, you can see it's a little lighter right here and a little darker on this section. This is actually the secondary rubber of the tire starting to show through and at any one time right here, the steel cords that's in the construction of a tire are going to start poking through here and I definitely suggest tire replacement. So when you see this, that it's been driven on a little bit flat and some alignment issues, it's definitely time to replace this tire. Thank you.
