What to Expect at the Car Racing Track

TINA STULL: Hi. I'm Tina Stull, and I drive the Top Dragster for Interstate Batteries. On behalf of Expert Village, today we're going to talk about the basics of racing. What do you expect when you get to the track? Pretty much you sit around. You wait for your call. You've already prepped your car and we've talked about that before, but that entails that your car is ready, you're ready, and they call your category and you come up to the lanes. What you pretty much will do, hop in your car, drive on up, and they'll be at the front of the lanes just as you get to one, there'll be an official there and they're going to ask you more than likely, "Do you want right lane or left lane?" And if you have a preference, you give it and then they'll tell you what number of lane and most of the lanes are numbered usually one through 10 or one through eight and they'll just tell you which lane. So, that's what they're--that's one thing that they're communicating too at that point. What you'll do is you pull up, shut off your car and wait for them to start calling your lane.
