Car Racing Classes

TINA STULL: Hi. I'm Tina Stull, and I drive the Top Dragster for Interstate Batteries. On behalf of Expert Village, today we're going to talk about the basics of racing. It's important to figure out kind of what class you want to race. Do you want to race a door car or do you want to race like a rail dragster? In each category, the rules are very different so you really need to kinda find out what kind of car you wanted to race because you may not be able to race at all tracks with all events. And then, it's basically finding a car. If you don't already have a car, there are a lot of websites that people buy and sell cars. RaceJunk.com is one but there are many out there and check out the history of the car. Make sure that you know if you're buying a winning car, are you buying the car complete? A lot of times cars are sold with chassis only, motor only, and so forth. So, you don't want to buy a car and find out it doesn't come with the motor, it was a winning car and then you go try to put another motor back into it and you find that the car doesn't react the same or whatever. So, really know what you're car and what you have into it.
