How to Get Your Name Out There in Car Racing

TINA STULL: Hi. I'm Tina Stull, and I drive the Top Dragster for Interstate Batteries. On behalf of Expert Village, I want to talk to you about sponsorship in the world of racing. You'll include your driver's cards if you have them or it can be as simple as say, photographs. A lot of the sponsors, when you're a sportsman racer, they know that you don't have--starting off with driver's cards or whatever is difficult. So, you just assemble a book of what you've done different. If you got your name in a magazine or out of the track, these all will help them understand how active you are outside and what kind of PR. Do you think of yourself as a moving billboard? That's really what you do. I've done stuff with the military, gone out, taking the car out, and met with them and have done quite a bit with that; different organizations that you stay involved with, a lot of not-for-profit. You'll find auctions where you can sell things off. I do large concerts and that's with another Christian organization but that's particular to me, where it depend--you have to look at who you are. Find sponsors that you're compatible with as far as what you're desirous to do.
