BRYAN BILLHIMER: Hi. I'm Bryan Billhimer and. on behalf of Expert Village, welcome to Guitar Playing 101, The Basics. We're going to play--the first note is going to be on the 1st fret on the low E-string. Remember our left-hand technique? We're going to fret that string on that fret, and now over here on the chart, that represents this first dot. So 1st fret with the first string with your first finger. That's how you fret it. Now we're going to come down here with our right-hand technique and we're just going to pick that just like that. Now we go back to the diagram. Now we're going to pick the second note, which is this dot right here on the 2nd fret. We're going to play that fret with our second finger. It's important to use all your fingers. So now we press down firmly with the tip of our second finger on the 2nd fret on the low E string. Now we pick that note. Now back to our diagram. Now we're going to hit this third dot. We're going to play that on the 3rd fret, low E string, with our third finger. Now back to the diagram. We'll hit this fourth dot that's on the 4th fret of the low E string with our pinky. So just to recap, what this is going to sound like when you get it down and what you want to do is you want to play it nice and slow at first. Now back to our diagram. As you can see, we repeat that same pattern on every string, just like that. Now we're moving down to the A string, now the D string, G string, B string, and high E string, remembering the play on the tips of our fingers and remembering our pick technique that I showed you earlier.
