Exercise 1 for Beginning Guitar

BRYAN BILLHIMER: Hi. I'm Bryan Billhimer and on behalf of Expert Village, welcome to Guitar Playing 101, The Basics. Okay, so now we're going to talk about the first exercise and this is just a basic exercise that I just like to call "Exercise 1," and it's just basically an exercise to get your fingers moving get, get you used to fretting the strings and picking the strings. So I put--I'm going to put dots. This represents where you put your fingers, and in this particular exercise you're going to just put one finger down at a time. This doesn't mean that you put all of these dots down at the same time. After I write this out, I'm going to show you how to play it and how it relates to this diagram. Okay, so now we got our Exercise 1 written out; I'm going to show you how to play this on the guitar.
