Corey, How often do you recommend doing this exercise in a regular regimen?

by ManOGod

Excellent exercise Corey! I spent 13 years in the military and have never seen this exercise-- and I was a fitness training. Thank you. Can't wait to try it.

Dumbbell Push-up With Rotation Exercises

Hi! My name is Corey Beasley, owner of DNA Fitness. I am going to be walking you through a variation of the pushups utilizing dumbbells. This is a little bit more advanced exercise not like a typical pushup, so before you are trying this exercise I really want you to make sure that you can do you know 25-30 solid pushups with perfect form. Again you are going to want to start with a weight that is low enough that you do not sacrifice form as you are going through it. I call this a pushup with a rotation; basically what this is going to do is this is going to strengthen your chest, your arms, all along the muscles in your shoulder blades, your back and also your torso. What you are going to do is you are going to set your dumbbells up. Basic pushup position, your body straight, stomach tight, on your toes, now lower yourself down in the pushup position. As you come up you are going to turn, rotate and turn towards the ceiling, back down. Turn and rotate. As you go obviously you are working both sides of your body. Again taking away any imbalances that you might have doing the strong right side and a weak left side or vice versa, so great way to balance out your body, awesome way to develop some upper body strength and challenge your body in the different angle than you are used to.
