Hi my name is Nate McCullough on behalf of Expert Village. In these clips we're going talk about the proper way to remove and replace a front wheel vehicles valve joint. In this clip we're going to talk about some of the troubles you may run into with a valve joint. During a previous service you can see that this surface here has been damaged. That is a sleeve that the valve joint presses into. I don't have the particular press for this foreign car so what we're going to do is remove the control arm and take it over to my bench vice so we can work on it. The removal of the control arm is relatively simple depending on the make and model of the vehicle. We have a nut here we need to remove to get the splay bar link off. We have our control arm mounting bolts, there, and two back here. I have my half inch drive ratchet and my seventeen millimeter socket, it's a twelve point. This is the bolt we're going to be working on. I know it's a tough one to see. Alright there's one right there. Put it in the trusty magnetic tray. What I've done is removed one of the rear control arm mounting bolts, that's this guy right here. Depending on your particular make and model it's going to vary pretty widely. This is a three bolt style in the rear, a lot of them will just have one. You'll just count the number of bolts you have and remove them. Repeat the steps for any additional fasteners.
