Common Treatments for Pet Snake Illnesses

On behalf of Expert Village I'm Nicole from Pet Kingdom. I'm here to tell you about sick snakes. There is not a whole lot of variety as far as treatments for snakes go or ill snakes anyways. But for simple things such as mites there are several things out there available, one of the products we use is the Deep Relieve Reptile this kills mites on contact. It can be sprayed directly onto your snake or on it's cage furniture and then wipe clean. This is mite guard it's a powder that you can sprinkle on the bottom of the terrarium before you put it together and put your snake inside of it. That will let termites from even coming into the tank. Now for retaining shed if your snake is having a hard time shedding what we like to use is sheddings. We put this inside of the water that we are soaking our snake in and it helps to remove the dead skin that is has been trying to come off of the snake. This stuff works wonders it's very good for removing eye caps, for removing the tips of the tails or the skin has not come off. There is plenty in here for plenty of baths for small snakes. To keep our snakes healthy we use this, it's called Healthy Habitat and every few days or so we wipe out all the cage furniture and inside of the tanks with one of these. Now at home you may not need to wipe out your snakes cage that often simply because you don't have the same amount of animals as a pet store would. We use this on a daily bases and cleaning out our animals cages, it's easy it's non toxic and it's definitely something that I would recommend to clean out your animals cage with. If you don't have healthy habitat local pet stores will carry a lot of different non toxic agents you can use to clean out your terrarium.
