Filtering Impurities for an Absinthe Recipe

Hi my name is Allen for Expert Village, and today I'm going to discuss the controversial and banned alcohol, commonly known as Absinthe. So the next part of this is actually filtering the first set of liquid, and we want to filter out any of the herbs that might have gotten in to the liquid. Because you don't want to drink that, obviously. That would be bad. So what they recommend, actually, in the manual is to use a coffee filter. Now, it would be kind of weird if you put it into another container, and you're trying to hold it down. Maybe you can do it with rubber bands. I have an old coffee pot here, and I figure this would really be the best bet. It's going to drain out right in to the coffee pot, and it's going to give us the best result. I'm sure if there's herbs that can even get through this, they're not going to go through that. Everything. So pretty much I'm just going to do it like brewing coffee, and we'll remove the bag of herbs. It says pretty much just squeeze it out, the best you can, and get all of the juices out of the herbs.
