Riding a Wheelie Balance Point

Hi, my name is Jared Cummings. I'm here with Expert Village. We're talking about how we wheelie. All right, now we're going to be talking about balance point. When you're in your sit down wheelies, you're going to want to make sure that you're not going too far back. Again, we're going to have our foot covering our back brake, and that's going to be our control in case we go too far. That's going to be our lifesaver over here. Again, we talked about this before, is our throttle control. If we start chopping the throttle like this, that's going to flip us over on our backs, and we don't want to end up in the hospital, so we want to be really conscious on that throttle control, again, on the rear brake control. So if we go too far back we can ease on that brake and bring ourselves back down. Our balance point is really important because once you get to that balance point about here; you're going to be floating. Your bike should be feeling like its just moving back and forth like this, and up and down like this, and you can just feel it floating. So you're not really focused anymore about powering it up there, and you're not gaining speed, you're just sitting right there at that same RPM and just holding it. And should you need to make adjustments, it's minor, minor adjustments. So, you're here, and should you have to go back, give it a little bit more gas, to go a little bit more down, go ahead and just tap on that brake. You don't want to be jamming on it, it's just a nice ease on that brake, bring yourself back down, and ease off that brake again.
