How to Jump an RC Car

Robbie for expert village lets talk about jumping, lot of jumping going on and off-road. Our track in particular has, oh man, some where around 35 jumps in it. You'll notice watching the videos that the cars have a tendency to do different types of attitude and the drivers are actually making adjustments that's quite deliberate. The tires on these things act as jarros lot like a bicycle or motor-cross bike were when we get up in the air we can actually fly the car. So when you approach a jump, there's really a couple of different things you need to think of. You want to take off properly when you come up to the face of the jump. Typically, you're going to let off of the throttle instead of getting on the throttle. You want to make sure that you're lined up. If you're not lined up the best thing to do is actually get out of the throttle try to roll over it. Lot of folks go anyways, wish for the best. If you take off and the jump is well groomed and its got a good consistent face on it, if you let off as your coming up the jump your car will actually sail nice and smoothly over it. If not, you can adjust the attitude of the car in the air. So if your coming up over a jump and the front end of the car is down, what the driver will do is he will stab the throttle give it a lot of give it, give it a bunch of gas and that will actually straighten the car up, the front end lift, ok, and the car will come back to level or beyond. If you're flying tail down you can tap the breaks. Once you tape the brakes that will bring the nose of the car down to level or even actually below level so that you can down side the jump and get all four tires on it consistently. You can turn the wheel to cross the car up as you get on the throttle or the brake and actually fly the car, make different adjustments. We have big air contest out here every year were we will have cars that will do 3 or 4 back flips land on their tires and keep it going. Front flips, spins, cork-screws. So half the fun of the hobby is getting up in the air and flying it.
