I'm Ivan Madar. I'm a professional ski instructor and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. Now, the next step is to learn how to master various steepness of the terrain. You'll learn how to do the pole plant and there are other elements that will make you advanced or expert skiers. But for that, without a question, I recommend that you hire a professional instructor or engage in a group lesson because it's very difficult to give a few tips just on one tape. Hopefully you got the basics from this tape and hopefully you will enjoy skiing for the rest of your life. The drill you just saw that I just showed you, we call "thousand steps." It is a drill that is used in all the levels from the intermediate to advanced, all the way to expert levels depending on the speed and the slope of the terrain. It is a drill that will help your balance, your stance on the skis; it will help your edging and also it's a drill that helps with the directional movement. It helps you to move your body downhill which is extremely important for further steps in skiing.
