Feeding in a Reptile Terrarium

On behalf of Expert Village I'm Nicole. Depending on what type of animal you have you are going to need to provide an area for food and water. I provided him with this enclosed area to keep his food and water in trying to keep it separated from the rest of his terrarium. Now I just use cat dishes for him. It's real easy for him to get into and eat out of. It really depends on what type of animal you have. Like a snake is going to require a deep dish big enough to allow the snake to soak in. The rats would require water bottle; it really depends on what type of animal you have. Any type of vegetarian animal is going to require a food dish such as this one. You can find food dishes at your local pet store too that are more decorative to enhance your terrarium. You definitely need to make sure that you clean up after your pets at least on every other day basis. With him he uses this area behind his food and water as a type of little box. Which is for me cause it makes for any easy clean up and most animal will choose one place in which to defecate. Some small lizards don't but for the most part most of your animals will pick one spot and that is fairly easy to be picked up. The reptiles that are kept in the bark type bedding tend to have a harder time with finding it because they keep it in one spot so well and the bark covers it up easily. But it's really easy to clean it up the bark and it doesn't soil more than one small area and it's easy to throw away just a small part of the bark.
