How to Remove Flashing from Model Car Tires

Hi, I'm Greg B. from Expert Village. Today we're going to talk about model cars. Ok, we're going to explain a little bit about flashing. Flashing is part of holding your parts together, they like mold these tires all at one time. These little tips that you see on the end here, their probably part of the release. Right here I have several types of knives and many blades. You always want to be careful when you use these blades that you don't cut yourself, so you have to figure how you could cut this cutting away from your hand. Ok, we remove that tire and that's pretty clean. What you might want to do is even sand these tires, look like they really been down the road. Now that's removing the flash in there it's a small piece so you want to be accountable for it, so if you have any little children they don't get a hold of it. now this tire has a lot of flashing on it from the mold or a mole and this part of the tire would go inside the car but you still want to clean it up a little bit. Now to be very careful that you don't cut yourself. We used to take this slicks from the model race cars and jury ring them in a drill and sand them. After you pull it apart you could, if you just pop it you might put a hole in the tire which you could ruin the looks of your model. We'll get a little sandpaper and scuff it a little bit, get that to look like it's really been down a road.
