The Two Knives in Wicca

On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Caroline, and I'm here to tell you about Witchcraft. There are two knives that are used in Wicca. One is a boline, which this knife is used for cutting things, cords, herbs, basically cords and herbs. It's sharp, so that it will cut, crescent shaped like the moon, and it is white handled. So that when you hear people talking about a boline, this is the ritual tool for cutting herbs and that. And it is double sided where it's sharp. So, you can either cut this way, or this way. The second knife that we use is called an athame. Now the athame is used in ritual, it is not used to cut anything tangible. It is used to cut stuff that's etheric or astral, or spiritual. And the athame is double sided, it is not as sharp as the boline. And this usually represents the male in our rituals, which I will explain later.
