I just wanted to add that Bast is a protective mother figure. She is also a Goddess of light, truth, protection, healing, fertility, fun, sex amoung other things. She is seen as the Eye of RA which equates her with light and the power of divine light to drive away evil. She is a Goddess of all things. Thank you for the video.

The Goddess Bastet in Witchcraft

On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Caroline, and I'm here to tell you about Witchcraft. This is Bast, or Bastette, and she's also an Egyptian Goddess. She's the Goddess of dance and joy. Cats are revered to her. This is where alot of the mummification of cats came in, during the Egyptian dynasties. She is one of my favorites, I guess just because I have five cats myself, go figure. But she's just very regal, and she reminds me to be regal and happy every day. She had her temples at Bubastes, which is where they would mummify the cats, and the cats would run loose, and they would be fed, they would be nurtured, they would be loved. Even if accidentally killed by someone, that person could face death, and also when a persons' beloved cat that was a pet would die, the people would shave their eyebrows in mourning.
