The Solitary Eclectic in Witchcraft

On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Caroline, and I'm here to tell you about Witchcraft. Now being a Solitary Ecclectic, as I said, I use from different traditions, but being Solitary I work alone, rather than with a coven. Not that I wouldn't work with a coven, but it's kind of hard to go out there and say to somebody, "Hey, belong to a coven?" So I just prefer to work alone. I do celebrate espats and sabbaths. Which an espat would be a full moon, so I do a full moon ceremony where I thank the Goddess that I've worked with for almost twenty years, for her help during the month. And that is just her day, I do not ask for anything as money, or love or health. It is just specifically to honor her. On the Sabbaths, which are major holidays, there are eight in a year. It's a little more intricate type of ritual, because you go with the time of the year that it is. So say if it was Mid Summer, I would decorate my altar with alot of flowers and probably throw a few faeries in there just because, and go from there. The theme would have summer colors to it, I would be wearing lighter clothing, because I do wear clothing. I do not go sky clad, which means naked. There have been times that I have, although I really watched to make sure the neighbors weren't peeking over the back fence. So I kind of stopped that, especially since there's a child nextdoor and I don't want to damage them for the rest of their life. As far as the espats go, every one is different, every altar is decorate different. And that's pretty much all I can say on that. As far as everyday life, nature is in everyday, it comes into play. I'm thankful for the changes in weather, I'm thankful for the stars at night. These are the types of things we watch. It's a nature based religion. So as the world turns, so do our lives, so does the wheel.
