Traditions in Witchcraft

On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Caroline, and I'm here to tell you about Witchcraft. There are many traditions that are used in Wicca, and as I said, I am a Solitary Ecclectic, which means that I borrow from different groups. I primarily follow a Celtic path. But there are also other paths. Strega, which is an Italian witch, there is the Gardenerarian path, which is founded by Geral Gardener. There is the Alexandrian path, which was founded by Alexander Sanders, there's faery craft, there's traditional craft. Just different sects, or hives as we would call them as they've come off of a coven. And a coven is normally twelve people, and once people are initiated to become priestesses or priests, sometimes they hive off and start their own coven, and give their coven a name and a new tradition. Silver Ravenwolf, which is another witch of our day, has the Black Forest Clan, which is found in I believe out of Pennsylvanina where she is. So with all these different traditions, everybody has different ways of initiating people, and different types of rituals that they go through. Now, personally, my stuff, I would borrow as I said, a little bit of this, a little bit of that, kind of like kitchen witchery. You know, you're making something so you put a little bit of salt, a little bit of pepper, a little bit of thyme. Sometimes alot of thyme. But that is mainly the difference between the traditions.
