Witch, perhaps you might actually read the story before you proclaim yourself an expert on this incident? From my point of view, there are numerous errors in your account as presented here. She did not recognize Saul until he requested she call me. He reassured her no harm would come to her and she complied with the King's request. Regarding "the information he wanted", hardly. That is, unless you wish to be told that on the morrow you and your sons will join me in the underworld. Not exactly the news Saul was seeking. But perhaps the worst news of all to Saul was that G_d essentially had abandoned him. Which serves you and those who listen to you I guess, the Ruler of the Universe does as It chooses and abandoneds those who find disfavor with Him (or It, or Her as you wish). As for the money or compensation, that was a detail deemed un-necessary to the story but assumed. Your biggest error Witch, is in stating that she "basically cursed him". Read the text in context and with understanding and you'll learn the truth of the passage. Concluding, why wouldn't he leave her to her abode? (no where does it say hovel. Again that's your empelishment of the account). He was to die the following day along with his sons - David was to receive the crown of the kingdom. Ah, but you would have to have been there to understand. To others wishing to seek a real "witch": read the account for yourselves then decide if this person is the "expert" you seek.

The Witch of Endor

On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Caroline, and I'm here to tell you about Witchcraft. One of the most famous witches in biblical times is the Witch of Endor. And she is mentioned in Samuel I believe it is, Samuel twenty-eight. And it has to do with Saul, who went through the countryside and disposed of all the witches, tyring to say that they were doing the Devil's work, etcetera. Basically these women who were supposedly witches and that were mediums, as was the Witch of Endor, who was also known as the woman of Endor. Now, he was going to war, against the Philistines, and he wanted to know what the outcome would be. So he promised her that if she would help him, no harm would come to him. Now of course she recognized him with his little horrible things preceeding him. And she was a little bit nervous at first, but as I said, he assured her no harm would come to her or anything. So she went and did the prediction for him, bringing up Samuel, but rather the spirit of Samuel to I guess it would be channel. That she channelled him. And he got the information he wanted, and then just basically left her. No money, no compensation or anything for this. And when it was done, she basically cursed him by saying that "Why hast thou deceived me?", and that was it. He didn't kill her, which I suppose is a good thing. But he just left her living in a hovel after that.
