How to Tie a Constrictor Knot

Now I'm going to show you a Constrictor knot. This is a variation of the thief knot, except this one?s a little bit stronger. A little bit better, and it will bind really well. If you look down here at what I'm going to use to bind, or what I'm going to bind, is going to be my big thick yellow rope I have here. And I'm going to use my smaller rope to bind it. This is relatively easy to do, what we're going to do is pull it together like so. And we'll wrap it one good time over it. And then I'm going to take it and I'm going to cross back over my standing end with my working end. And then loop it back under again. As you can see I've got this nice cross going on here. I'm going to take this end and pull it right back under, and have it lay right next to my standing end going on here. Now you can see I've kind of got this weaved over as it is. Now what I'm going to do to finish this knot off is I'm going to pull a little bit more here of my standing end. My first initial loop that I created. What I'm going to do is, I'm going to bring my working end over and through that loop. Creating just a half knot. And then pulling it tight. And there you go, constricted tight.
