Overview of the Floating Card Trick: Learn Free Magic
I am Joe Marshall with expertvillage.com and today we are going to unravel the mysterious of telekinesis. So I am going to explain the hookup a little more detail. You have it on the back of the card running to your button, I have just wrapped the elastic thread around the button, but the way I have it hooked up to the card in this case is just tape, you can use magician’s wax or glue whatever you want but just make sure that whatever you are using is not going to come off, it is going to stay on there, and make sure that it is not really easily seen, not that you are going to really show the back of the card that much but just in case you do. Another thing with hookups is that if anything if they want to examine anything or touch anything you are going have to actually break the thread, so this is something you really going to want to do one time and just another point on the Hindu shuffle when the card is on the bottom, this is how you are going to hold the deck, you are going to hold it from the top with the palm facing the deck, and your thumb and middle finger of the other hand are going to deal off cards, small packets of cards of the top, when we do this in fast motion, it just appears that you are like shuffling them, and then you are going to show them that but the actual way to get into that is just come up over the top so that you don’t bump into the thread, because it could break, if you break it then you will just do a different card trick, you are not going to tell them beforehand that you are going to cause the card to rise out of the pack, because if it does break in the middle of the trick, they are expecting that to happen, you will look kind of foolish, so don’t tell them the surprise and make sure that when you doing the Hindu shuffle you come over the top of it, and you are not disturbing the back of the deck.
