Now I'm going to demonstrate the granny knot. The granny knot is very similar to the reef knot or square knot. But its a little bit different, its a little bit off so to speak. Well, here look and I'll show you what I'm talking about. And as we look down here at my lines. Now if I was going to create a reef knot I'd pull a half not in it like so. Let me just pull this up so you can see it. A little bit more. Pull it into a half knot like this, and I pull in another half knot like this. Now you can see that this is going to create a reef knot. And this is not what we're looking for. What we're looking for is the granny knot. Which would be this? If you swap the ends and pull them to, you can see it creates this knot right here. This was the granny knot that we were looking for. Now we're just going to untie this. Do this one more time. Put a half knot in it like so. And then put another half knot it. Now all you've got to do is kind of tie them both the same way, and then pull it down. And there you go, there's your granny knot. One more time. Take it; let's see how fast we can do it this time. There you go a granny knot. A little similar to a reef knot, not as symmetrical, but its a really good classic knot.
