How to Tie a Knife Lanyard Knot

Now I'm going to demonstrate the Knife Lanyard Knot. The Knife Lanyard Knot is a knot that is a very ornamental knot, and it?s very similar to the Carriage bend. If you look down here, you can see that I all ready have my line set up. And I've already got just a little overhand loop in here. We're just going to make it an overhand loop. And there we go. What I'm going to do is I'm going to take my blue line that I have, and it's going to go over the loop as well. And it?s going to take my working end under the standing end of my red line. And then back over the working end of my red line. And then basically I'm just going to take it and weave it through. Under, over and under. Creating these two loops that are within one another. Now this is in essence the Carriage Bend. So we're going to take this line, pull a little bit more here. There we go. And we'll pull this back around and over the standing end of my red line. And then up through the middle that I have here, that I've just created. And we'll do the same with the red line. Pull this out a little bit. And we'll pull it up, and over the standing line on my blue line. Back through and under. Coming out again. And as we pull this knot together, it?s going to get a bit unruly. So we just have to work with it just a little bit here. And there we go. As you can see this is a very good knot, because it's not going to give any slack what so ever. There we go. Bring that around, pulling it through, and over around, pulling this a little bit. And there you go.
