Now the crossing knot is probably the most common, and also probably the most weakest hitch that you're actually going to use in a knot. If you look down here I'll show you what I'm talking about. You can see I've got my, I've got my initial line here, is what I'm going to do. I'm going to take my other, my blue rope, and its going to be my working rope here. And basically I'm going to take it over and under my standing line. And then back over itself, and then back up. And basically that is it. Very simple, very insecure. Because just by pulling this, well if this line was a little bit more secure, if it was a post, if I pulled on it, it would just pop right out like so. So we'll do this one more time. Pull it over, and under, and over and through. And most of the time you'll see this small hitch used in wrapping packages. If you're just trying to tie, if this line was going to go around all the way around a box, this line would come back around and catch it like so to keep this line from actually moving. Very simple, very insecure. But it?s a classic, so its a great one to teach.
