This is the great Mooring hitch. This is very classic. This is used for tying small boats, if they are going to be rocking in the wind, low tide, high tide, whatever. If you look down here I've got my hitch set up that I'm going to be using. And here's my line here. What I'm going to do is, I'm going to wrap it over, and pull it under, like so. And I'm going to take my standing end here, I'm going to take my working end, and I'm going to make a loop. An overhand loop. Actually, let?s make this and underhand loop like so. Pull out a little more line, because I'm going to need a little bit more. And I'm going to take what's left of my working end, standing end, there we go. And I'm going to take what's left of my working end, and I'm going to make it another loop like so. And I'm going to weave it over and under like so. And this is why I've created the bend here, and as we pull, you can see that this will tighten up into a nice tight finish. And pull, let me get it right there, and there we go. This is a great way to moor your boat to the dock. And, whatever other use you might find for it.
