Now a half blood knot is the best to use if you want to go on and attach a hook to your line if you are fishing. Now if you look down here at the table, you can see that I don't have a hook. I have a pair of scissors, so that you can actually see the rope, instead of using the fine monofillament like we would be using if we were going to be fishing. So I'm going to take this, and I'm going to pull out a good length here. I'm going to run it through my round hook. And pull it back. Now what we're going to do is we're going to take this, and we're going to twist this rope, once, twice, three times, four. Usually around five or six. It doesn't really matter. Then we take our line, back on the same way here. And we're going to push it back through this loop. And as we pull it, if you pull it, let's work it through this loop. Now if you work it down and are real careful with it, you will create a nice barrel shape on your line. And this is known as a half blood knot. This is great. And it?s very tight, and it?s very secure. And it?s one of my very favorite knots.
