How to Grate Ginger & Chop Basil

Hi. This is Rich Buccola here in New York City and today on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to make Basil Chicken with Curry Coconut Sauce. Alright, so we're back and we're going to just, while our milk, I put my milk on a low flame, so I don't have to babysit it. And what I'm going to do now is just take my ginger, I'm going to get about two tablespoons of ginger with our grater. And we're just going to start grating that down. We're also going to get our basil. Alright so you're just going to need about a couple of tablespoons of fresh ginger. And you see, you get that nice from there. I'm just going to take a few pieces of basil and roll them up and chop them up. I'm going to also save a few pieces of, a few leaves of basil for garnish. I'm just going to take our basil and just give it a good roll. Just need a little bit of it. Like a tablespoon of fresh basil. So you're going to give it a chop this way. And then again, just chopping back and forth with the back of the blade to get a nice chop. And you can even, this is like for the last right, last thing before you serve it. We're going to actually put in our fresh ginger root and our fresh basil. And then like I said, we're going to use some fresh basil leaves just to garnish.
