Updating the Contacts Section in Gmail

Now I am going to talk more about the "Contact Section" of Gmail and this where you store all your contacts, your friends and family or business associates, whatever. So it is on the left side here, we will just go to "Contacts" and it brings up our "Contact Section". Our options are to add a "New Contact", to add a "New Group", you can "Search your contacts". Over here is the section where we can edit contacts groups. So if I clicked on a contact, I would have the information here and I could edit them or add them to a group. But let me show you real fast how to add a new contact. Go right here and then the information will come up over here and then we can enter a name, and email and then if you wanted to, you can add even more information like a phone number and you can add multiple phone numbers. You can add an address and multiples addresses for either home, work or other and for the phone, you can see they have all these different phone numbers. You can also add an instant messaging address and there is even an option for more information for, title, company, notes and then other. So if you wanted you could get really detailed and a really detailed contact. But, really the only thing you have to do is enter an email and than it is probably and good idea to enter a name. When you are done you can just click "Save" and there we go there is a new contact in there. If we ever needed to edit that we just go back over here to "Edit". That is just like a single contact, you can also create a "Group" which means is you have, say three contacts that are your family, you could create a new group called, "Family" and then when you are composing a mail you can just send it to the group "Family" and it will send it to all three. So to create a new group we will just go this button right here and then it asks you, "What would you like to name the group?" Then you can see it will come up here, over in the left side, "Family". So what you can do is, to add somebody to that group, you can click somebody that is already in your "Contact List" and go up here to "Groups" and, well Bob is already in "family", let me add Johnny here. So we click on Johnny, and then we go up to "Groups" and then "Add to", "Family". Then once he is added to that group, you have the option to remove him. So after a while, after you build up a lot of contacts, the way it really comes in useful is when you are composing mail, when you are in the "To" box, just say I do not really know his email address but I want to send a message to Bob, just start typing "Bob" and since he is in "My Contacts", he is just going to come up, straight up like this. That is what makes the contacts actually useful.
