Overview of Gmail Interface

So now I am going to give you just an overview of the Gmail Interface. This what we will see when we sign in, you have got your inbox right here. Just starting from the top, you have some options up here for calendar, documents, photos, groups, web, and more. One of the great things about a Gmail and a lot of Google products is that they all integrate really well together. So you can integrate your Gmail with like a simple calendar program, you go calendar. Also use your Gmail account to access other things like Google documents and then they have a big list of everything else you can do right here. Moving over to the right side, you have your email right there, you have got your settings, which I will go into all these settings later. But here is your basic mail settings right here. You have got the option to go to the older version, because they just updated, but I am going to show you how to use the new version. There is help right here, which is really useful if you ever have any questions. They have got a really nice help center set up right here. And then sign up. Then just come in right down here and you have got your search bar, your search for mail and for web. Like I said it is a very powerful search, it makes it really easy to find old emails and you have got some advanced search options, which I will go over later. You have also got a shortcut to create a "mail filter", which I will also go over later. But going over here, this is probably where you will spend most of your time and the most useful part of the interface, is navigating over here. You have got your compose email button, your in box, which is right here, which is where are your new mail and mail you have not deleted are put, are not archived yet. You have got your starred mail, which Google gives you the option to star important mail. When you click on this it will take you to everything that you have starred. You have got your chats, when you chat with somebody, Google saves it and then you can read them all later. You can look at the mail you have sent, you can look at any mail you have saved as a draft, you can look at all mail, which should include everything from the top on up, but will not include spam or trash. Then below that you can see the spam, it turns gray so you know that you are looking at spam and not your inbox or anything. Then you can also look at your trash, which is also gray. Then you have got your "Contacts? and this where you can either add like contacts, edit all your contacts or import your contacts from another email. I will show you how to do that later as well. Here is your chat section right here, you can minimize it, by bringing up the little arrow here and it will show all of your people that available to chat right here. I will show you more about that later. You got some options in "editing contact" and here is your "label section" which I already talked about a little bit and we will talk about more later, which is basically a way to organize your mail, a little bit like folders but a lot more powerful tool. Then you have got a little "Invite a friend To Gmail" and you can enter an address of a friend and send them an "E-vite" if you would like. Then here at the bottom there is just a few more things, "Go message", right here, on how to send mail from your other email address using your Gmail account, I am going to show you how to do that later, how much space you are using and how much you have available total. Then you have the option to turn off chat and then view it as a basic "HTML" and then there is more about that if you want to learn more about that. Then just some other standard stuff, terms of use, privacy policy, program policies and Google home. That is the basic overview of Gmail's Interface and we will go into detail with all these sections in some other clips.
