Hair Highlights Product Tips

Hi, I'm Amelia on behalf of expertvillage.com I'll be talking about highlighting at home. There is a lot of different highlighting products on the market. Some of the most popular are the good old cap and bleach highlighting kits that you can get I think they are called frosting caps, or something like that. They come basically with a cap, a hook that you use to pull the hair through the hat and then your lightener and then you would just mix that to manufactures directions. Another technique that you can use and another great trick is you can use color instead of lightener. So let's say you want to add a lowlight or let's say you want to add red to your hair you would just go and get a box of regular box color and instead of applying it the traditional way you can put it in a bowl. Apply it with a brush and you can just paint it on or however you want to put it on, you can even put a cap and just apply it all over that way. So there is so many different things that you can do as far as highlighting goes that you can't do with all over color. But yet you can use the exact same product you can use a semi permanent. Let's say that you are mostly blond and you want to add some lowlights you can go to the store and get you some semi permanent color and again you can pull your hair through the cap or you can try foiling it yourself. Or you can even just paint it in and that is a great way to add some dimension and depth to your overally blond hair. Think outside the box when highlighting or lowlighting don't think that you only need to use bleach or that you only need to be blond think about the other colors of the rainbow that can be or all the other products in the market that you can use.
