How to Clean a Deer Hunting Rifle

You've gone hunting; maybe you've gotten a deer. Now you want to take care of the equipment that you have so it will last a long time. One of the keys to that is taking care of the deer hunting riffle. A deer hunting riffle is made of metal. When you touch it it leaves the oil from your fingers, natural oils that you produce, on the actual rifle itself. There are two different cleanings. There is a basic clean and a deep clean. A basic clean is just putting oil on it and wiping off the human oil, preventing it from rusting. That should happen after every single time you handle the rifle. Every single time you go hunting. The other clean is a deep clean where you actually clean the bore of the riffle and clean out any grit that the bullet leaves behind as it exits the chamber. People have different opinions on this. Some people want to do it after every single time they shoot a rifle others will do it after every hundred shots or only when the riffle starts shooting erratically. There is no exact science when you need to deep clean, but you do need a basic cleaning to keep the riffle up to date and last over many years. So to clean, just a basic clean of a riffle you need a rag, an old tee shirt, some other kind of rag, gun oil which is rust preventive lubricant for the deer riffle. Essentially you can spray it directly on the riffle, spray it on your shirt cloth or whatever. The main thing is that you get every area of the riffle clean removing all finger prints and any place of oil that you may have touched the riffle. It's also important to remember some of the nook and crannies of the riffle such as the barrel, inside the chamber here, behind the trigger mechanism etc. Doing this and cleaning a riffle and cleaning all the metal will ensure that the riffle will be good and usable and rust preventative for years to come so you can have many hunting experiences with your deer rifle.
