How to Field Dress a Deer: Part 3

Before you pull the various internals you want to cut some of this lining. The lining around the liver and the lungs and the diaphragm here can prevent you from having a clean pull. All this lining area needs to be cut. Once that has occurred, you cut the lining around this esophagus here and just pull your way down. Just peel it away. Once you cut that lining it typically pulls on out, fairly easily. Once you've pulled it out of the base just cut the remaining pieces out of the base. You can move the guts. If there are any other clogged blood parts clean that out. Then lift the deer and drain it. Then with a water hose or some kind of faucet spray it out. That is the basic steps to cleaning a deer.
