How to Hunt Deer from a Stand

Once you are in a deer stand there is various things to remember. A deer's primary defense is it's nose but is also has very good eyes seeing various movement. You want to try to prevent movement to below the window line so your hands shouldn't be flashing above and it is a common mistake that many people make while deer hunting. When you first get in a deer stand you also want to get everything set up before you open up the windows to help with sounds. Loading a shell or unzipping a bag, setting your scope and your binoculars in the right location is something you want to do as soon as you get in the stand. Once it happens you should open up the windows so you can see various views of the different scenarios or roads that you are hunting on and then once you see a deer once again you need to remember that motion is what catches their eye and what they can see. Look at the deer, make sure it is looking down, and you use slow movements with your rifle to get it into position to actually shoot the deer. When shooting a deer in the deer stand you want to make sure you have a good rest, a solid rest, rest the gun firmly against your shoulder and make sure you get a good view point of the animal within the scope. Once you shoot if for some reason you need to make a second shot or you missed the deer, the bullet shot will not necessarily automatically scare the deer. It is the secondary sound that really makes a difference so if you make the shot and you jerk out the shell that will cause the deer to for sure run. You might have an opportunity if you ease out the shell and ease back in a shell to get a second shot. That is the basics of deer hunting in a deer stand.
