Hi I am Francisco Cales of Tampa, Florida with Pool Inspectors on behalf of Expert Village and our theme for today is basic spa maintenance. We are going to be vacuuming the pool at this moment. We are going to be installing the vacuum through the skimmer line so we are going to need a vacuum hose, the actual vacuum, an inch and a half to two inch adapter depending onto he size of the skimmer, it can either be an inch and a half to two inches and a pole. Go ahead and install your pole to your skimmer and place it aside. Take your hose and throw it in the water, untangle it, take one side and plug it into your vacuum. Take your vacuum and set it on the first step of your pool. When you sit inside the pool you need to make sure that it does not roll away. Take your hose and start untangling it. You want to be able to get a hose that is long enough to cover the whole distance of your pole. We are here and using a 40 foot hose which would be adequate for this pool. Once you get that set up take the cover off the skimmer and remove the basket. We have a two inch net in our spa so I am going to be using an adapter. Take the end of your hose and what we are doing is we are pushing out all the air in the hose using the return. Just go ahead and hold it over the return and the vacuuming will bubble. Once the vacuum stops bubbling go ahead and place your hand over the back line talk back to your skimmer, put the adapter in and plug it in to your return.
