How & Where to Place a Deer Stand

Alright, hey, this is Hugo with Expert Village. We're trying to find a good place to put a deer stand on a tree and this looks like a pretty good spot. Really what you want to do, you want to try to find, you got to know the factors like the wind, the areas the deer are using. There's a field right out here, you can kind of see. The deer will be probably coming out of areas that are wooded out into the field in the evening time, so you want to get your stand, basically, find a good area, again based on the wind direction and all that to try to put it up. A lot of these deer stands these days are just very, very simple to use. This one simply attaches to the tree, and you get on it and you climb up the tree itself. So, it's a climbing stand. They make a variety of other stands, as well, that you can put on trees, whether it's a lean to, a ladder stand, or you can build some permanent stands, but whatever it is, finding a good spot that overlooks an area that you think the deer are using is critical to having a good hunt.
