I have tried sending documents and pictures by this method and sometimes it doesn't work. So I have found that if you right click on what you want to transfer, hit copy, then go to where you want to copy your file and hit paste. That quaranties that the file will go to that spot that you choose to save.

beeb, I have found, that if you download a basic CD burning program, like Nero or some other free file transfer program, it makes it a lot easier to burn Cd's & DVD's. That way, when you download an on-line book of your choose, send it to where you know it will go, then use the CD burning program to transfer it to CD.

I want to download a book from an online book club that allows downloads but I want to burn a CD for it. How do I do that?

Hi! I’m Ross. Thanks for visiting expertvillage.com. What can we do with computer files? Let’s find out. How do you copy a file to a device, lets say a floppy drive, an external USB memory card, external USB drive, or fire wire drive. What you can do… let’s say I want to print my wonderful wife.txt from a printer that’s on a different computer. I could right click this, go down to send to, and I have different options for devices that are connected. You could have a floppy drive that you say you would send it to or USB drive. I could send it to my CD writer. Here I have an external hard drive that I could send it to. When I click on it it will copy it to that location. Then you can move that device to the other computer and access it, and print your file. The other way to copy it to disc is to go up to the file that you want to copy, right click, copy, and then go to my computer. Expand that out and you’ll see the different devices connected at the local drive. I have my external drives here. You could have your floppy; you could also have an USB thumb drive. I could left click this drive, right click, and paste. The file shows up.
