IF the tree is falling in YOUR direction, put your arms upward as in prayer to "stave off" the inevitable "crushing" of all of your important bones, organs, cranium, etc.

Listening to the Tree to Cut it Down Safely
Hi! I am Drew Finn here for Expert Village.com. We are going to discuss how to cut down a tree safely today. This video is brought to you by Black Dog Video. You can visit it on blackdogvideo.biz. Now that we have got a notch in here, we can cut the felling cut. Going to come through from the back side and all the time when I am doing that, I am paying a lot of attention. Once I cut in the gap behind where I have cut, whether it is starting to close up or open up, starting to open up the tree starting to go. If you hear a crack, that is another indication to start to go or not and it’s time to back off. You always watch the tree. When she starts to go, you have got to pay attention. This is the most critical part as far as safety goes for the whole felling process. You got to know which way this is going. Now there is a slight breeze, I am going to wait a minute to cut, there is a slight little gust of wind and then we will cut. So, that’s what we are up to. Let’s cut it down.
