PETTIDEE: What's up? This is Pettidee with Soldier Sound Records on behalf of Expert Village, and today we're going to give you tips on live performance. Next, we want to talk about the maintenance of your performance CDs. First of all, most people nowadays are using their MP3 players, their iPods or even if you're doing it a whole another level, you'll need to have a DJ or you'll have an instant replay machine but if you're not at that level yet and you're still using a CD player or a CD, make sure that you change your CD out regularly and not use the same performance CD even. What I usually do is I'll take my backup CD which I've never played and I'll--when it's time to transition, I graduate my backup up CD and make that CD the main CD and then I'll demote my main CD and make that the rehearsal CD and then I'll burn a new copy and make that CD the backup. So make sure that you keep that CD fresh. It keeps from trouble, it keeps from it being scratched up, and just the wear and tear of going from show to show. So, make sure that you keep that performance CD live and fresh and don't come to the show--I've seen horror story about. I've seen horrible stuff. I've seen guys come to the show and their CD looked like they or somebody was skateboarding on it, and then they wonder why it's skipping when they get on the stage. So, make sure that you keep that performance CD live and fresh and change it out regularly.
ha. one time we were on our way to perform at a huge outdoor festival and we dropped our beat cd on the sidewalk. haha. we tested it with barely any time left, and it played without skips.
