Hi, I'm Amelia and on behalf of Expert Village, I'll be talking to you about understanding the laws of hair color. The first rule of color is that it is not a paint. Once you apply the color it's not going to change the underneath color. When you put it on, it's going to shine through. So whatever you have on your hair already, you have to take into consideration, whether it's your natural color or whether it's color that you put on previously, and you have to take that into consideration always when choosing your next hair color. On this mannequin, we've got some highlighted pieces, and then we've got some colored pieces. So if I was to apply let's say a red color all over, I would have to take into consideration this blonde hair. This blonde hair may very well turn pink. So in order for me to make this a nice red, I would have to apply something else over it before applying the final color. In the next few segments we're going to be talking about how to choose those colors and how to properly do that.
