Attack & Defense Drill in Filipino Martial Arts

JOHN BROWN JR.: On behalf of Expert Village, I'm John Brown, and we're going to work your drills to incorporate the attack and the defense. So if Baron thrusts me for the low line, I work my one-hand grab. I return and give him a thrust, and he works his one-hand grab. I can just grab it or I can flow with it. Off the other angle of attack, he's going to do his one-hand grab, then he's going to let go and feed me to my lungs, and we're going to drill it like that. We tend to go in a circle so I like to move the opposite way so it doesn't get too repetitive. Disengage, grab, grab. Disengage, grab, grab. And that's how we drill the offense and the defense side of the thrust.
