Measuring the Wrist for Christmas Bracelets

Hi! I'm Robin with trees-mom.com. We're making a video for Expert Village today. We're making a crocheted wire Christmas bracelet. We need to decide how big we want the bracelet. There's a couple of different ways to do this. One way is to use the tape measure and measure around your wrist. You add one inch and if you keep your tape measure right here, remember what the measurement was. As we make our chain stitch, you can compare it to the measuring tape and see if you're close to the measurement that you need. Another way to do is to go ahead, do your chain stitch, and wrap it around you wrist at different intervals to see if it's going to work around your wrist. You always add one inch so that when you add the other rows, it kind of makes the bracelet shrink. You have to allow for that shrinkage as it gets smaller. Remember, you can either make a line on a piece paper, put it right in front of you on the table, or just have your tape measure like I do right here. That'll help you to know how long to make your chain stitch.
