How to Chop Celery

Hi, this is Rich Buccola here in NYC. Today on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you how to make a nice veggie platter. This is where I just like to take my celery and give it a good rinsing. I even break off some of the stalk and wash the ends it's just a lot easier for me that way. So give your celery a good rinse and now we have our celery and what I like to do is just keep my celery over here and work with one piece at a time. Because I like to try to take all the celery the same size if that's possible. So the first thing you're going to do is just take off the top piece that you don't need and just disregard it and throw it away. Work with one at a time so I'm just cutting off the heads and get rid of them like so and with that said you want to try to cut these all the same. The same just because it looks nice you don't want them to be all different sizes so with that you take your first one and you say that you want it to be that big, that's a nice size. You are always cutting it at an angle to, take the next the one and put it next to it and you'll put your last one like so and just cut that off, this I throw it away too. Those are my slices and I'm going to keep doing the same thing just basically to get them all the same size.
