Improve Your Writing by Using Correct Language

Hi, I'm Kari Wethington for expertvillage.com Today we are going to talk about ways to instantly improve your writing. One way to instantly sound smart in your writing is to vary up your language. Feel free to use your words, try using a thesaurus reading other writers to get inspiration but may sure you always know what the word means before you use it. You are going to need your dictionary next to your computer to make sure that you are using the word correctly. Here is one example of how using more descriptive language will help you get your point across a little bitter. Here we have the original sentence "I'm worried about the stock prices", that says enough but we can make it a little better and say "what can you tell me about the systematic decline of the stocks A and B over the last 10 years." You are given the reader a little more information because you are saying it has been a systematic decline and also saying that it has been for 10 years. So you will get more information in your response as well.
