Hi, this is Sean Hobson for Expert Village. What we're talking about is getting ready before a punt. This is one of the most important times before you punt. A lot of people think it's the kick. But, one of the most important things is to get the ball to approach the kick and make a good punt. Everything starts with good balance. We don't want our kicker awaiting the punt and we don't want them out of balance. We don't want them low because it will take a long time to get up to make the kick. We don't want you standing with your feet side by side because it will be very hard to get the punt away. We want our kicker to have the foot they're going to kick with slightly back, about half way the width of your foot. You don't want to be real wide, just a good even stance ready for the ball. The most important thing is that your eyes have to be staring that ball down in order to receive it. If the ball is snapped back, we don't want to have the guy step over to get the ball if it goes across. Instead, you want to take a step across, reposition yourself, and now you're ready to receive the kick. This is what it looks like. We're going to see how he receives the kick, watching the ball all the way in and making a good catch before the punt (video demo). You saw that that was a little bit of a bad snap. So, he went and got it, he repositioned his feet, now he's ready to approach the kick and make a good punt.
