Practicing Your Ventriloquism Techniques

Hi, this is Grace Fitzpatrick here on behalf of Expert Village. And I'm here to talk to you about practicing ventriloquism. There's a little tricks we can use for doing ventriloquism using what we learning about replacing certain letters with other letters that can help our pronunciation. So very funny for example becomes, "Th - ery Th - unny", "Th - ery Th - unny". And you just practice saying that over and over again, you're going to get better. Similarly with W's. Instead of saying, "Where did he go?" You'll kind of going to say, "OO - ere, oo - ere, ooere", but kind of let your tongue, you know go lightly over "oo" part. So you're not actually having to use your lips. And once you practice the alphabet a few times through and practice with these little tricks. Some of the best things to do our sitting in front of a mirror and just looking at yourself do it. And what you're going to want to do is keep your mouth slightly parted so that you're not really closing your mouth all the way. Your letting your mouth stay opened and also using the substitutions with the letters to say what you want to say without actually moving your lips. And you can do this by sitting in front of a mirror and practicing this and once you do it over and over again, you'll know what you'll like like and you can start to develop your facial expressions while you're using the puppet.
