Choose the Right Lily Bulbs for Your Garden

Hi this is Yolanda Vanveen for Expert Village. In this segment we're going to talk about the different types of lilies for your yard. There's non-fragrant lilies that bloom first in June into July. They're called Aziadiks and they come in whites and reds and oranges and yellows and purples and pretty much every color you can imagine, but they're non-fragrant, but they're still great cut flowers and they last for a long time and they multiply real well because they're not getting as tall. Where as the Stargazer is now the third most popular cut flower in the world next to Casampama and roses. So, this plant was just hybernized about 1966 here in Brookings, Oregon. So, the fact that it's now the third most popular cut flower in the world is quite amazing to me since the other flowers have been around for centuries. This fragrance Stargazer, Casablanca, which is the tallest most gorgeous fragrant lily, and then we've got others that are hot pink like the Paramounts. They have more of a cinnamon fragrance; I love the fragrance of the Paramounts. It seems that the Stargazer is more of a clove spice to it, where the Paramount is more of cinnamon spice and the Casablanca is more of a pure fragrance. So, rather you're using the shorter Aziatacs or the taller oriental lilies, you're sure going to show off your garden to everybody and you're going to enjoy the fragrance all summer long. Lilies are a great addition to your garden but there's also a lot of other native plants that are beautiful like Camashia.
