Leg Sweep for Competitive Judo

On behalf of Expert Village, I am Angel Perez, with Champion Marshall Arts in Miami, Florida, and today we are talking about competitive Judo. OK, remember when we are training for competition. It's very important that you get your speed down right. In order to do that again, you must train the technique over and over and over again. For speed this is how we do it. I'm going to demonstrate a different technique right now. This is called o-soto-gari, this is a leg sweep. OK, with speed. You must apply the technique correctly, but you must use your speed. OK, eventually, the final outcome will be a throw. Always hold on, so that your opponent or partner does not get hurt. In a tournament I wouldn't be as nice actually. I will do what is called mikekomi, I will be landing on top of him. Something like this.
