Hi, I'm Rick Tobey on behalf of Expert Village. I'm going to demonstrate some slide guitar. In this section we're going to learn how to play some slide guitar. Now this particular guitar I'm playing is called a resophonic guitar or a resonator guitar. This guitar was designed back in the 20s and 30s when there was some a lot of jazz bands were playing. There wasn't any electric guitar amplifier's at the time so they invented a guitar that had called a resonator to make it louder so you can hear it with all those horns playing. Then with playing a slide there are many different ways to tune a guitar. You can use standard tuning or you can tune it to an open chord. If you tune it to an open chord, then you can use a slide and in any way that you put it, you get a chord a major chord or a minor chord depending on how you tune the guitar.
