Hi! I am Cherie Terry at Cherie Terry Permanent Cosmetics in beautiful Sedona, Arizona and on behalf of Expertvillage.com, I would like to explain to you a little bit about the machine I use. What I use is called a rotatory machine. It comes in the Revolution I and Revolution II. It is basically the same thing as a regular coil tattoo machine that most of the tattoo artists that you see in town use. This is just in case the tattoo machines usually have coils that have rubber bands and everything. This is just a little bit lighter weight. It is all in case so it is not as much work for me to keep clean. I always keep a plastic over it which does change with each client. It is very easy to use, plugs in, has a foot pedal pack that is used down below, so you plug in and then you have a foot pedal you can use. You can either use it with or without a foot pedal. I always prefer to use a foot pedal almost like a sewing machine, it works really good. The way it is used, you get a sterile needle. You can open it up. Always check your needle, make sure it doesn’t have any burs on the needle. It is plugged in to the front end, screwed in with a little tiny screw up on the top, that is screwed in. Then you would take a sterile tube, open it like that. Usually by this time I would have gloves on if I was working with a client. You just put in, go straight through. Use a little bit of the needle, tighten that and then you have a knob on the side that would give you this amount of speed. This goes so many repetitions per minute, same with the coil machine. Coil machine usually has a little bit more pressure, little bit more poundage to the repetition. Mine usually goes about 4 or 5 lbs. pressure, so many repetitions per minute… and you see it go.
